PM&DC clarifies its role in MDCAT 2026
ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP): The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has clarified that the MDCAT held on September 20, 2026 was conducted by universities nominated by the respective provincial and regional governments, and not by the Council.
According to the Council’s spokesperson on Thursday, as per law, the universities must ensure the transparent conduct and integrity of the MDCAT examination.
He said that five universities were authorized to conduct the MDCAT-2026 including University of Health Sciences, Lahore (for Punjab Province), Sukkur IBA University, Sukkur (for Sindh Province), Khyber Medical University, Peshawar (for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province), Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences, Quetta (for Balochistan Province), and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad (for Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).
The paper-setting, printing, storage, transportation of the papers, development of keys, compilation and declaration of the MDCAT results were also the responsibility of the universities, not the PM&DC, he added.
He said that the Council had no direct role in conduct of the MDCAT.
He said, “If any candidate has a complaint or grievance regarding the examination, the concerned university shall be approached directly for appropriate remedial measures, if any, under the law.”
