WASA intensifies recovery drive in four wards
RAWALPINDI, Oct 01 (APP): Managing Director, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Rawalpindi, Azizullah Khan, on Thursday directed officials to intensify action against defaulters in wards 73, 74, 75 and 76 and disconnect water connections over non-payment of dues.
The directions were issued at a meeting convened to review revenue recovery from domestic and commercial consumers in the four wards, where officials presented details of outstanding dues and ward-wise recovery.
The meeting was attended by Director Finance and Revenue Tahir Bashir Mirza, Deputy Directors Rana Shams-ur-Rehman and Akmal Yasin, Manager MIS Ali Abbas Gondal, Assistant Directors Revenue, Assistant Director Water Supply Samran Zahid and other concerned officers.
Azizullah Khan directed the officers to improve recovery targets and ensure collection of outstanding dues from defaulters.
He said water connections of consumers who failed to pay their dues should be disconnected without discrimination, adding that negligence in revenue recovery would not be tolerated and action against defaulters would continue until outstanding dues were recovered.
The meeting also reviewed the water supply system. The MD directed the concerned officers to improve the supply schedule and ensure timely and adequate water supply to consumers, saying better service delivery would also help improve revenue recovery.
