Students urged to excel in respective fields

New UAF students familiarised with university environment
FAISALABAD, Oct 07 (APP): University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali has urged students to excel in their respective fields by developing knowledge, critical thinking and practical skills, saying that the rapidly changing world demands young graduates who can turn challenges into opportunities and contribute meaningfully to society.
Addressing students at a seminar arranged by Directorate of Students’ Affairs and Office of Chief Hall Warden, he said that education was not merely about earning a degree but about developing the ability to understand complex problems, find innovative solutions and take responsibility for the future of the country.
He stressed that students should remain focused on learning, research and character-building to meet the challenges emerging in agriculture, climate change, food security, water scarcity and technological transformation.
Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that Pakistan’s future was closely linked with the capabilities of its young generation, particularly students of agriculture and allied disciplines.
He encouraged students to think beyond conventional approaches and equip themselves with modern knowledge, digital skills and entrepreneurial capabilities to compete at national and international levels.
He urged students to make full use of the academic, research and technological facilities available at UAF and actively participate in research, competitions, extracurricular activities and community-oriented initiatives.
He said that UAF was committed to providing students with an enabling academic environment and opportunities for professional development, research and innovation.
He hoped that UAF graduates would emerge as competent professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders capable of making a positive contribution to Pakistan and the global community.
Director Student Affairs Prof Dr Waseem Akram urged students to actively participate in research projects, competitions, seminars, internships, extracurricular activities and community engagement programs.
“You must develop the ability to identify a problem, understand its causes and propose a practical solution,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s future depended on a young generation capable of innovation and responsible leadership.
UAF Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Sohail Sajid also addressed the seminar and advised students to set clear goals, remain committed to their studies and develop the confidence and innovative thinking ideas.
