RCCI demands business representation in grievance committee
RAWALPINDI, Oct 12 (APP): The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) on Monday hosted an interactive session on property tax amendments, motor vehicle registration, and sanitation fees to address the concerns of the business community and enhance taxpayer facilitation.
The session was chaired by RCCI President Nosherwan Khalil Khan, while Director Excise & Taxation, Rawalpindi Division, Imran Aslam attended as the guest speaker.
RCCI leadership and participants appreciated the directions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, specifying that no commercial premises or business center should be sealed without prior approval from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
The Chamber urged the Excise & Taxation Department to include RCCI and trade representatives in the relevant grievance committee to ensure fair resolution of tax complaints and timely redressal of taxpayers’ concerns.
Director Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Rawalpindi Division Nauman Khalid delivered a presentation on recent property tax reforms, including the transition from the Annual Rental Value system to the Capital Value approach.

RCCI President Nosherwan Khalil Khan stressed the need for a business-friendly taxation mechanism based on fairness, additional facilities at the RCCI Excise Desk, and close coordination between government departments and the business community.
The meeting was attended by RCCI Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Senior Vice President Waseem Aslam, Vice President Ikram-ur-Rehman Abbasi, FPCCI Vice President Tariq Jadoon, Small Chamber President Rana Khurram, along with executive committee members and trade representatives.
