DC reviews sanitation, dengue surveillance and road maintenance
LAHORE, Oct 13 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ejaz on Tuesday visited Raiwind tehsil to review
sanitation arrangements, dengue field surveillance, road patchwork and other administrative measures.
He directed officials to maintain zero-waste cleanliness on major roads and accelerate dengue prevention activities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Social Services) Zulqarnain Khan, Assistant Commissioner
Raiwind Babar Ali Rai and other officials accompanied him during the visit.
The DC inspected administrative arrangements along Raiwind Bypass and Rohi Nala Bypass Road,
where he was briefed on cleanliness, road repairs, road washing, dengue surveillance and desilting of drains. He directed the relevant officials to ensure uninterrupted zero-waste cleanliness on Raiwind Bypass and adjoining major roads. He also ordered the completion of surveys of main and connecting roads, followed by timely patchwork to improve road conditions.
Emphasising dengue prevention, DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz directed field teams to intensify door-to-door inspections and expedite the elimination of dengue larvae. He said the teams were on high alert in view of the prevailing weather conditions and must ensure effective field surveillance and immediate action against dengue larvae.
The DC further directed officials to conduct regular road-washing activities on major roads to control dust and help prevent environmental pollution and smog. He said desilting of Rohi Nala and adjoining drains was being carried out to ensure the swift disposal of rainwater and sewage.
The DC directed all administrative officers to remain present in the field, closely monitor ongoing activities and take practical measures to improve service delivery. He said he was personally active in the field to ensure that Lahore was transformed into a zero-waste city.
