FAISALABAD, Oct 13 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a foreign traveller deported from Libya over illegal immigration.
According to FIA officials, a team of FIA Circle Sahiwal arrested the accused Babar Hussain son of Farzand Ali in connection with an alleged attempt to travel to Italy through an illegal route, commonly known as the “dunki” route.
The action was taken in a case registered as FIR No. 23/2026, dated October 12, 2026, under Sections 17 and 22 of the Immigration Ordinance, 1979.
Officials said that the accused had previously been deported from Libya on the grounds of illegal immigration.
During investigation, it emerged that arrangements had allegedly been made to send him to Italy through unauthorized channels for which Rs2.7 million had reportedly been paid.
