BICEFE reviews to enhance fashion exports through digital innovation, industry collaboration
LAHORE, Oct 14 (APP): Chairperson of the Board of Industrial Collaboration to Enhance Fashion Exports (BICEFE), Muhammad Kashif Ashfaq, has stressed the need for strengthening digital capabilities and promoting industry-academia collaboration to significantly boost Pakistan’s fashion and textile exports.
He was chairing the third meeting of the BICEFE board at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) here on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the strategic plan for 2026–2028, which envisages transforming PIFD’s Design and E-Commerce Center into a central hub for the country’s fashion, textile and export sectors.
The participants commended Nishat Mills, Sapphire Denim, Interloop Denim and Naveena Exports for successfully completing specialized training programs in digital design and brand development.
On the occasion, Muhammad Kashif Ashfaq announced that the ChenOne group of industries would sponsor a delegation’s visit to Turkiye to study its advanced design centers, gain international exposure and explore best practices for modernizing Pakistan’s fashion and design industry.
The meeting also discussed upgrading technical equipment, introducing international trend-forecasting software such as WGSN and recruiting specialized technical staff to enhance the operational capacity of the Design and E-Commerce Center.
Participants emphasized that closer ties between academia and industry are vital to equipping Pakistani professionals with modern digital skills, improving product branding, and increasing the global competitiveness of national exports.
PIFD Vice Chancellor Hina Tayyaba Khalil, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Fiaz Ahmad Chadhar along with board members and senior faculty members attended the session.
