ANF seizes 60kg hashish from ambulance in Quetta, arrests key suspect

ANF seizes over 117 kg of narcotics worth over Rs 91.5 million in eight operations
RAWALPINDI, Oct 14 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 60 kilograms of hashish concealed in secret compartments of an ambulance during an intelligence-based operation near Sona Khan Chowk in Quetta, arresting an alleged key member of an inter-provincial drug smuggling network.
According to an ANF spokesperson, initial investigations suggested that the drugs were being transported from Mastung to Quetta.
The spokesperson said the smuggling attempt was foiled through sustained surveillance and effective operational planning. A case has been registered against the arrested suspect under the relevant narcotics control law.
The spokesperson noted that the use of an ambulance to transport drugs raised concerns about the misuse of emergency services. The ANF had earlier recovered narcotics concealed in secret compartments of an ambulance in Shikarpur, Sindh.
The spokesperson said anti-narcotics operations would continue across the country to curb drug trafficking.
