ISLAMABAD, Oct 02 (APP): The first round of talks between the government, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and opposition concluded at Parliament House here on Friday, with Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq facilitating the dialogue.
The meeting, chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, focused on the prevailing political situation and various matters of national importance.
During the meeting, representatives of the government, PPP and opposition apprised one another of their respective positions and exchanged views in a constructive and cordial manner.
The participants emphasized the importance of resolving national issues through dialogue and negotiations.
The second round of talks will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Chamber of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Ayaz Sadiq played a key role in facilitating dialogue among the government, PPP and opposition representatives.
Federal Ministers Ameer Muqam, Rana Sanaullah, Mohsin Naqvi, Talal Chaudhry and Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Senator Sherry Rehman, and Members National Assembly Syed Naveed Qamar and Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani attended the meeting.
The opposition was represented by Barrister Gohar Khan, Raja Nasir Abbas, Malik Amir Dogar, former Speaker Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja and Haleem Adil Sheikh.
