FDI, Balochistan discuss strengthening immunization services
ISLAMABAD, Oct 16 (APP): The Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) and the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Balochistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening coordination to improve vaccination coverage and ensure equitable access to immunisation services across the country.
The commitment was expressed during a meeting between EPI Balochistan Provincial Coordinator Dr. Aftab Hussain Kakar and FDI Director General Dr. Musa Khan, who discussed key programme priorities and strategies for improving immunisation outcomes.
Dr. Musa Khan emphasized the importance of effective federal-provincial collaboration to expand vaccine coverage, address implementation gaps and ensure that every child receives essential vaccines.
He highlighted the need for coordinated planning and sustained efforts to strengthen routine immunisation services, particularly in underserved communities where access to healthcare remains a challenge.
Dr. Aftab Hussain Kakar appreciated the leadership of the FDI and reaffirmed EPI Balochistan’s commitment to improving routine immunisation and reaching children in remote and underserved areas through closer coordination with the federal government.
The discussions focused on strengthening programme implementation and ensuring that immunisation services reach eligible children across different regions without geographical or socioeconomic barriers.
The meeting reflected a shared resolve to enhance cooperation between federal and provincial health authorities and build a stronger, more resilient immunisation system to protect children against vaccine-preventable diseases.
