ISLAMABAD, Oct 17 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday issued a traffic advisory announcing temporary diversions at different points on the Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway during the movement of cricket teams in the federal capital.
An ITP official told APP that traffic would be diverted at different locations on Srinagar Highway between Serena Chowk and Ninth Avenue.
He said motorists travelling on Srinagar Highway should use Suhrawardy Road, G-8 Service Road and G-9 Service Road as alternative routes.
Traffic heading towards Zero Point and Faizabad was advised to use Faisal Avenue, while motorists travelling towards Ninth Avenue should use Service Road East.
The official said citizens travelling from Koral towards Islamabad should use Old Airport Road, Rawal Road, Rawalpindi Murree Road, IJP Road and Faqir Aipee Road.
He said motorists could use Lehtrar Road and Park Road as alternative routes in case of closures on Koral Expressway, Murree Road and Club Road.
Similarly, citizens travelling out of Islamabad were advised to use Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road, while those coming from Bhara Kahu towards Islamabad should use Bani Gala Road and Park Road.
The official warned that traffic pressure was likely to increase on major roads during the diversions and advised motorists to allow an additional 20 to 25 minutes for their journeys.
