Governor Mandokhel stresses inclusive democracy for country’s progress
QUETTA, Oct 02 (APP): Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Friday said that democracy is not just the name of the electoral process but a political system of democratic governance, collective responsibility and bringing everyone together, we are taking concrete steps to strengthen the government at all levels for interest of progress of the country.
He said that at this time, it is extremely important to bring the youth closer to us and include them in the national mainstream, youth are the real asset of the country and nation, therefore, it is necessary to provide them with quality education and employment opportunities and teach them digital skills compatible with modern requirements.
He expressed these views while talking to Provincial Ministers Mir Asim Kurd Gellu, Noor Muhammad Domki, Member of Provincial Assembly Zarak Khan Mandokhel and Parliamentary Secretary Muhammad Khan Lehri at the Governor House, Quetta.
On this occasion, the Governor Balochistan said that the basic duty of democratic institutions is to raise awareness among the people about their rights and duties, strengthen social justice and ensure the protection of the constitutional rights and powers of citizens.
He said that the newly elected public representatives have important responsibilities in political and social terms, instead of creating division and distance in the society, they would have to make practical and conscious efforts to promote national unity and mutual respect.
He said that public representatives should become an effective voice in their constituencies, especially for the silent majority who could not raise their voices fully to achieve their rights and solve their problems.
He said that as a result of the economic policies and measures adopted by the current government, the country is making progress towards overcoming economic difficulties, now the need is to further expand business, trade and economic activities to convert economic stability into public prosperity and pave the way for creating employment and economic opportunities for ordinary citizens.
Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that the strength of the democratic system depends not only on government institutions but also on the behavior of public representatives, political tolerance, transparency and continuous communication with the public.
“If elected representatives prioritize the problems of their constituencies and prioritize collective goals and interests, this would not only strengthen democratic institutions but also strengthen the public’s trust in the government system” he said.
Governor Mandokhel said that the need of the hour is to go beyond political affiliations and play a role for public welfare, supremacy of the constitution, rule of law and social harmony.
