Law Minister orders acceleration of development projects, strict quality standards in Kasur
LAHORE, Oct 18 (APP):Punjab Minister for Law Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan on Sunday has directed district authorities to accelerate ongoing development projects in Kasur, ensure strict adherence to quality standards, and enhance public service delivery, asserting that no compromise would be made on public interest.
According to a spokesperson, he issued these directives while presiding over a meeting of the District Coordination Committee (DCC) at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office to review progress on development schemes, law and order, sanitation, drainage, healthcare, education, and municipal services across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner and departmental heads briefed the meeting on ongoing development and welfare initiatives, including projects under the Public Health Engineering Department, highways, WASA Kasur, water filtration plants, sports facilities, and the revamping of Basic Health Units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centres (RHCs). Addressing the participants, Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan stated that providing basic amenities and completing development schemes within stipulated timeframes are top priorities of the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
“Development projects are designed to provide immediate relief to the public. Unnecessary delays and substandard work will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” the Minister warned.
He instructed officers to regularly conduct field visits to monitor ongoing projects, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure the optimal utilization of public funds. He also emphasized improving service delivery in public hospitals, rural health centers, and educational institutions, stressing that negligence in public welfare projects would invite strict departmental action.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee agreed on establishing stronger inter-departmental coordination to expedite development work and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential municipal services to the residents of Kasur.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Food Security and Research Malik Rasheed Ahmad Khan Advocate, MNA Rana Hayat Khan, MPAs Malik Ahmad Saeed Khan Advocate, Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas Khan, Chaudhry Mahmood Anwar, and Chaudhry Ahsan Raza Khan.
