CM Bugti stresses awareness, early detection and access to treatment in fight against Breast Cancer

CM Bugti chairs review meeting on provincial reforms
QUETTA, Oct 19 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has emphasized that awareness, early diagnosis and access to treatment are fundamental to an effective fight against breast cancer, stating that protecting women’s health is a shared responsibility of both the government and society.
In his message issued from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the chief minister said that timely diagnosis significantly improves the chances of successful treatment. He urged women to prioritize their health and seek guidance from qualified medical professionals instead of ignoring any unusual changes or symptoms.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti noted that effective awareness campaigns are essential to eliminating fear, misconceptions and social stigma associated with breast cancer. He said such efforts would enable women to speak openly about their health concerns and seek timely medical advice without hesitation.
Highlighting the challenges faced by women in remote areas of the province, the chief minister stressed the need to expand access to breast cancer awareness, screening and treatment facilities across Balochistan. He said women living in far-flung regions should have equal opportunities for early diagnosis and appropriate medical care.
Sarfraz Bugti also underscored the importance of providing encouragement and social support to women affected by breast cancer. Rather than facing fear or isolation, patients should receive compassion and assistance from their families and communities, he said.
The chief minister called upon families, healthcare professionals, educational institutions and civil society organizations to play an active role in raising awareness and supporting breast cancer patients.
He said that awareness, timely diagnosis and access to treatment provide hope and pave the way for a better future for women. Through collective efforts, he added, the fight against breast cancer can be further strengthened, helping save lives and improve the well-being of women across the province.
