Pakistani Telecom Engr. Shakeel highlights importance of reliable fiber networks in Saudi Arabia
ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (APP):Pakistani telecom engineer Shakeel Muhammad highlighted the importance of reliable fiber network infrastructure in supporting modern businesses, digital services and communication systems.
Shakeel Muhammad, who works with ABANA Enterprises Group Co. in Saudi Arabia and is currently visiting Pakistan, told APP that his professional work focuses on Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Fiber to the X (FTTX) systems, which provide high-speed connectivity to homes, offices, businesses and institutions.
He explained that maintaining reliable fiber services involved more than installing connections, requiring proper planning, activation, quality checks, maintenance and timely troubleshooting to ensure uninterrupted voice, video and data services.
Shakeel Muhammad said his experience also included supporting network connections for business and government customers, designing and maintaining data circuits, and configuring network equipment such as routers and switches.
He highlighted that stable connectivity was essential for businesses and institutions to maintain communication, access digital services and carry out daily operations efficiently.
He said his responsibilities had also included managing more than 30 employees engaged in fiber deployment and maintenance, coordinating field teams and support staff, and ensuring quality standards across network operations.
Shakeel Muhammad holds a Master of Science degree in Electronic Communications and Computer Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on telecommunications and electronics.
He said the experience of Pakistani technical professionals working abroad reflected their contribution to telecommunications infrastructure and the digital systems supporting modern business operations.
