ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP):The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Tuesday advised commuters to use alternative routes due to ongoing construction work at Motorway Chowk near 26 Number Chungi, which is causing heavy traffic congestion, particularly during evening hours.
According to an NHMP spokesperson, traffic travelling to the motorway from Rawalpindi, Saddar and Mandi Mor should turn right at Golra Mor and use Islamabad Chowk, G-13 roundabout and Srinagar Highway to reach their destinations.
Similarly, motorists travelling from the motorway towards Rawalpindi have been advised to use Srinagar Highway and proceed via Islamabad Chowk and G-13 to reach Rawalpindi, Mandi Mor, Pirwadhai and Saddar.
The spokesperson also urged owners and drivers of public service vehicles to follow the alternative routes and avoid picking up or dropping off passengers at the construction site to prevent further congestion and ensure public safety.
Commuters requiring travel guidance or emergency assistance can contact the Motorway Police helpline at 130.
