Kashmiris being dispossessed of their homes, lands in IIOJK: APHC-AJK
ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Tuesday said that the Kashmiri people are demanding their birthright to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions, but India is subjecting them to severe oppression in retaliation.
Hurriyat leaders, including Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Hassan-Al-Bana, Shamim Shawl, Syed Ejaz Rehmani, Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf, Altaf Ahmed Butt, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Sheikh Abdul Majid and Syed Mushtaq, said in separate statements in Islamabad that in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmiri people are being dispossessed of their homes, lands and other properties.
They further said that Kashmiri government employees were being dismissed from their jobs and replaced by Indian Hindu appointees.
The leaders asserted that these actions were part of a systematic policy designed to economically weaken Kashmiris, deprive them of their fundamental rights and render them strangers in their own homeland.
The Hurriyat leaders further stated that India’s attempts to alter the demographic composition of the territory through the settlement of non-Kashmiris reflected a sinister plan to reduce the Muslim majority in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to a minority.
They urged the international community to take serious note of these actions and play an effective role in safeguarding the identity, rights and property of the Kashmiri people.
