MULTAN, Oct 20 (APP):The district administration on Tuesday sealed eight shops, registered eight cases, and arrested five persons during a grand crackdown against illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling operations across the city.
According to a spokesperson, the enforcement drive was conducted by Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Mukarram Sultan on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem. The sealed outlets were operating illegally at the General Bus Stand and other busy public places, conducting unauthorized LPG decanting in direct violation of safety rules. The administrative teams have seized all machinery, decanting equipment, and cylinders before taking strict legal action against the violators.
He informed that special Civil Defence teams have been constituted to intensify inspections against illegal LPG decanting across vulnerable locations in the city.
The Assistant Commissioner emphasized that the crackdown aims to prevent fatal accidents, protect precious lives, and enforce safety regulations, especially at crowded transport hubs and public places.
