RDA makes EFOAS mandatory for official correspondence, file processing
RAWALPINDI, Oct 20 (APP):The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has stepped up efforts to implement a zero-paper policy through the Electronic File and Office Automation System (EFOAS) to modernise administrative operations and improve institutional efficiency.
According to the RDA spokesperson, a meeting was held at the RDA Conference Room under the chairpersonship of Director Administration Nosheen Israr to review progress on EFOAS implementation and measures for shifting official correspondence and file processing to a fully digital system.
Directors and senior officers from various directorates attended the meeting and discussed ways to streamline official correspondence, improve file movement and reduce reliance on conventional paper-based procedures.
The meeting highlighted that the zero-paper policy would strengthen transparency, accountability and operational efficiency, while improving coordination and ensuring the timely disposal of official business. EFOAS is also expected to facilitate real-time file tracking, enable monitoring of pending cases and maintain a reliable digital record of official proceedings.
Nosheen Israr emphasised that the concerned directorate and officer would be responsible for the timely submission, processing and disposal of letters, PUCs and files through EFOAS.
She said delays caused by non-submission, late submission or improper processing of correspondence through the prescribed system would be the responsibility of the concerned directorate or officer.
She directed all directorates, officers and staff to implement the instructions in letter and spirit and extend full cooperation to ensure the immediate and effective enforcement of the zero-paper policy.
