People’s overwhelming response in Swat shows rising popularity of PMLN in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Muqam

PTI long march will not be allowed to enter Punjab, Islamabad: Muqam
PESHAWAR, Oct 21 (APP):Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir Affairs Engr Amir Muqam has said that people’s overwhelmingly responded in his last Sunday meeting in Swat showed rising popularity of PMLN in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement here Wednesday, Engineer Amir Muqam said that his relationship with party workers, leaders and media representatives was based on mutual respect, trust and a sense of belonging.
He said their dignity and respect have always been dear to him and will remain so, adding party workers are his political strength, while he has always held the professional services of media representatives in high regard.
“Upon reaching the stage at the public gathering in Swat, I noticed that due to the large crowd, hundreds of thousands of participants on both the right and left sides were unable to clearly see the stage, while it was also becoming difficult for me to establish direct contact with them. Therefore, in order to maintain discipline and ensure direct interaction with the people, I requested my colleagues, in a spirit of affection and goodwill, to come down from the stage. “
He said that to portray this as disrespect towards party leaders or media representatives was contrary to the facts and the spirit of our longstanding relationship.
Engr Amir Muqam said that the large turnout of people at the gathering despite only one day’s short notice was a clear expression of their trust in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and their affection for us.
Unfortunately, he said certain elements attempted to unnecessarily turn an administrative request into a controversy following this successful public gathering.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Swat, the party leadership, workers and media representatives for successful Swat’s show .
“Your love, respect and trust are my greatest assets. I have always valued you and will continue to remain among you with the same respect, sincerity and goodwill in the future.”
