Health experts reaffirm polio vaccine safety
ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (APP):Medical experts have reaffirmed that the polio vaccine is safe for children and essential for protecting them against poliovirus, urging parents to ensure that every child under five years of age receives two drops during each vaccination campaign.
Health experts of District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad and other concerned departments explained that the polio vaccine is safe for children’s health and according to recommended guidelines.
They stressed that vaccination remains the most effective way to protect children against the potentially crippling disease.
They said completing polio vaccination during every campaign was crucial, as repeated doses strengthen children’s immunity and provide protection against the virus.
The health authorities urged parents and caregivers to avoid paying attention to rumours, myths and misleading information about polio vaccination.
They advised the public to rely only on authentic information and guidance provided by the Health Department and qualified medical professionals.
The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad emphasized that the vaccine undergoes rigorous safety checks and is administered to protect children against a disease that can cause permanent paralysis.
The DHO Islamabad stressed that misinformation and misconceptions could put children’s health at risk by discouraging parents from getting their children vaccinated.
It encouraged families to seek clarification from authorized health officials if they had any concerns about the vaccine.
Parents were also urged to cooperate with frontline vaccination teams and ensure that all children under five received the recommended vaccine doses, regardless of whether they had been vaccinated during previous campaigns.
Health officials emphasized that collective responsibility, public trust, and community cooperation were essential to eradicating polio and protecting future generations from its devastating effects.
