Business community felicitates new office bearers of SCCI
PESHAWAR, Oct 03 (APP):The business community of Peshawar here on Saturday extended congratulations to new office-bearers of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), expressing hope that new leadership would diligently work to address the issues facing local traders.
The businessmen felicitated office bearers in a ceremony wherein new leadership, including SCCI President Malik Imran Ishaq, took charge of their office.
Speaking on the occasion, Imran Ishaq acknowledged the traders’ concerns and emphasized an essential comprehensive economic relief package for revival of industry and business in KP.
He said that “KP is far away from a port city, due to which cost of doing business is very high as compared to other parts of the country”. He said that prolonged border closure has elevated economic woes of the business community as they were totally dependent on trade and business with neighboring countries.
He said that efforts would be made to address problems of businessmen and to give them needed support and cooperation.
SCCI President acknowledged the numerous challenges currently confronting the business community and urged the government and relevant departments to take practical steps to address these issues.
