ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a traffic diversion plan for October 24 and 25, closing roads from Rawal Dam Chowk to Kashmir Chowk and from Serena Hotel to Kashmir Chowk, advising motorists to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
An ITP official told APP on Saturday that motorists travelling from G-5, Secretariat and Serena Hotel towards Rawalpindi should use Srinagar Highway and Ninth Avenue or travel through Srinagar Highway and Mehrabad Peshawar Road.
He said commuters could also use the Lake View U-turn to return towards Murree Road or Club Road.
Motorists heading towards Rawal Dam Chowk, Park Road and Lehtrar Road have been advised to use Srinagar Highway, Seventh Avenue, Shakarparian Road, Tulip Hotel and Rawal Dam Road.
The official said commuters travelling towards Murree and Bhara Kahu via Faizabad could use Faisal Avenue, Zero Point, Srinagar Highway underpass, Jinnah Square and Korang Chowk to reach their destinations.
Similarly, motorists travelling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should use Ninth Avenue, Faqir Aipee Road and Srinagar Highway.
He said commuters travelling from Park Road and Lehtrar Road towards Islamabad could use Tulip Hotel Road, Garden Avenue, Shakarparian Road and Seventh Avenue.
The official warned that traffic flow could be affected during the diversions and advised citizens to leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual to avoid delays.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO)  Kainat Azhar Khan said traffic police personnel would remain deployed on roads to guide motorists and ensure smooth traffic movement.
