NORTH DERA BUGTI, Oct 24 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday held an open court (Khuli Katcheri) for the third consecutive day in North Dera Bugti, where he directly listened to the grievances and issues of citizens from various districts and issued instructions to the relevant authorities for their prompt resolution.
During the open court, the chief minister also met tribal elders and discussed regional problems, development requirements and challenges being faced by local communities. He reiterated that resolving public issues and ensuring the provision of basic facilities remained among the top priorities of the provincial government.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the purpose of holding open courts was to provide citizens with an opportunity to convey their concerns directly to the government leadership while ensuring accountability of the concerned departments for timely solutions.
He directed officials to take immediate action on public complaints and avoid any unnecessary delays in addressing citizens’ problems.
The chief minister stated that there were no “no-go areas” in Balochistan and that the people of the province stood firmly with the state and security forces. He added that members of both the government and opposition parties regularly visited their constituencies and remained in close contact with the public through participation in regional events and gatherings.
Highlighting the importance of regional connectivity and infrastructure development, Bugti said efforts had been made to secure federal funding for the construction and improvement of a highway linking Taunsa in Punjab with Balochistan. He further revealed that survey orders had been issued for the construction of a road from the Chhapar National Highway to Kharar Buzdar.
He said the completion of the road project would provide Balochistan with an additional route connecting the province to Punjab, facilitating smoother transportation and boosting trade and economic activity between the two regions.
Referring to development initiatives in backward areas, the chief minister said special directives had been issued to reopen government schools in Ander Pahor, Mereri Wah, Rara Sham and other adjoining areas that have recently been included in Barkhan district. He emphasized that the government was taking practical measures to ensure the availability of educational facilities and enhance the functionality of educational institutions.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that girls’ education was being given equal importance and informed that work was underway on a pilot project aimed at providing better educational opportunities for girls in underserved areas.
During the visit, political and social leader Mir Yaqoob Buzdar called on the chief minister and apprised him of the problems and development needs of the area. The chief minister issued necessary directions to the concerned departments for addressing the issues raised during the meeting.
Addressing healthcare challenges in the region, Bugti directed the authorities to immediately provide an ambulance service for transporting patients from Kharar Buzdar to Dera Ghazi Khan. He announced that the monthly operational expenses of the ambulance service would be borne by the Government of Balochistan to ensure timely medical assistance for residents in emergency situations.
The chief minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to resolving public issues, improving health and education services, and accelerating the pace of development in underdeveloped and remote areas of the province. He said practical measures would continue to be taken to enhance public welfare and ensure that the benefits of development reached every segment of society.
