Dr Tariq calls for peaceful, just resolution of Kashmir issue under UN resolutions

Dr. Tariq Fazal greets Chinese leadership on National Day
ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has called for a peaceful and just resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In a social media post, he described October 27, 1947, as a black day in the history of the Kashmiri people, saying the entry of Indian forces into Occupied Jammu and Kashmir marked the beginning of an illegal occupation.
He said the day reminded the world of the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people, their struggle for freedom and their determination to secure the right to self-determination.
Dr Tariq said the international community had a responsibility to play an effective role in implementing UN resolutions, protecting human rights in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and ensuring the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
He said Pakistan would continue to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of IIOJK.
He added that their sacrifices would not go in vain and that supporting their struggle for freedom was Pakistan’s national and moral responsibility.
The minister called for renewing the commitment to raise the voice for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and a just settlement of the dispute, enabling them to decide their future in accordance with UN resolutions.
