ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):Justice Munib Akhtar, the Senior Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, took the oath as Acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday. The oath was administered by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar in a simple and dignified ceremony held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad.
Justice Munib Akhtar will act as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan while Justice Yahya Afridi, Chief Justice of Pakistan, remains abroad on an official visit.
The ceremony was attended by Judges of the Supreme Court, Director General Federal Judicial Academy, Secretary Judicial Commission of Pakistan, Secretary Supreme Judicial Council and Law officers.
Registrar, Supreme Court, conducted the proceedings of the oath-taking ceremony. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan were also present on the occasion.
