PDA conducts field research and tests digital services with farmers
ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):The Pakistan Digital Authority’s (PDA) Citizen Experience (CX) team on Wednesday conducted field research in Bhera and Sargodha to explore potential digital solutions for the agriculture sector, engaging directly with farmers to identify their needs and assess how digitization can improve their livelihoods.
The Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) is conducting field research with farming communities to identify challenges in accessing digital agricultural services and incorporate farmers’ feedback into the development of citizen-centric digital solutions, according to a press release issued on Wednesday.
Citizen experience is a key component of the PDA’s mandate under the Digital Nation Pakistan Act, 2025. Alongside leading the country’s digital transformation and developing the national digital master-plan, the authority is working to improve government services by making them more accessible and responsive to citizens’ needs.
As part of the initiative, the PDA’s Citizen Experience (CX) team engaged with farmers in Bhera and Sargodha to understand the practical challenges associated with identified agricultural use cases.
The team also observed farmers using the Mera Kissan and e-Zarkhaiz portals to assess their experiences, identify obstacles in the processes and determine areas requiring improvement.
The interactions helped highlight practical issues that may not have been identified through desk research alone. The CX team will next visit Gujranwala to engage with farming communities and conduct similar field research.
The initiative aims to incorporate direct feedback from farmers into the agriculture component of the national digital master-plan, rather than developing digital services solely through a centralized approach.
Findings from Bhera, Gujranwala and other districts to be covered under the initiative will be documented and used to refine the identified agricultural use cases and improve the design of related digital services.
