ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP): The Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) on Thursday conducted a licensing assessment at Maroof International Hospital to evaluate its compliance with prescribed healthcare standards.

During the assessment, IHRA team evaluated the hospital against the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) indicators and prepared a comprehensive report outlining their findings.

According to IHRA officials, the exercise is part of IHRA’s regulatory mandate to ensure that healthcare establishments meet the required standards of patient safety, quality of care and public health before the issuance of a licence.

The assessment process evaluates healthcare facilities against established benchmarks and helps identify areas requiring improvement to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, they added.
They said licensing assessments play an important role in strengthening accountability among healthcare providers and promoting adherence to standardized procedures for patient care, infection prevention and other essential hospital services.
Officials said such regulatory measures also help build public confidence in healthcare institutions by ensuring that facilities are assessed against defined quality and safety standards.
IHRA continues to undertake regulatory activities to improve healthcare service delivery in Islamabad and ensure that healthcare establishments operate in accordance with applicable rules and prescribed standards, they added.
