IHC restrains Establishment Division from repatriating deputationists

IHC imposes ban on all shisha cafes in Islamabad until rules are framed
ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday restrained the Establishment Division from issuing notifications to repatriate employees working on deputation to their parent departments and directed the federal government to submit a report and para-wise comments within two weeks.
The court also directed the petitioners to continue working in their current positions.
Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas issued the written order while hearing a petition filed by Khalid Mahmood and others. Their counsel, Raja Aleem Khan Abbasi, Zain Shah and Muneeb Tariq, appeared before the court.
According to the petitioners’ counsel, the employees had been serving in the respective departments for more than 15 years and had acquired a legal right to regularization.
The counsel further argued that the notification directing their repatriation had been issued in violation of the principles of natural justice.
The court issued a notice to the federal government and sought its response within two weeks.
Further proceedings in the case have been adjourned until November 2026.
