Abid Sher Ali urges respect for state institutions
ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP): Senator Abid Sher Ali on Thursday stressed that national unity and respect for state institutions were essential for the country’s progress.
Talking to reporters outside parliament he said Pakistan’s peace and stability should remain a top priority and urged political leaders to avoid using the state for personal interests.
He criticised Maulana Fazlur Rehman over recent remarks.
He said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman should realised that it was beloved state which had provided him with opportunities and positions with honour on several occasions, including chairman of the Kashmir Committee several times and had also served as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA).
He added that in return, Maulana Fazlur Rehman had supported undemocratic moves for the sake of personnel gains.
Abid Sher Ali said the state had repeatedly provided opportunities and recognition to political leaders, adding that state institutions should be respected.
