ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP):The Capital Development Authority (CDA) recovered state land worth approximately Rs1.3 trillion in Islamabad as part of its ongoing operations against illegal encroachments, the authority said on Thursday.
According to the CDA, the operations have also paved the way for the resumption of long-delayed development activities in various sectors of the federal capital.
The authority said around 600 acres of state land near the Prime Minister’s House had been recovered during the campaign.
In Sector E-12, the CDA recovered 1,135 kanals of land, clearing the way for development work that had remained stalled for decades.
The authority also demolished illegal commercial structures built on 116.8 kanals of land in Sector C-17.
Meanwhile, five plazas along Murree Road in Malpur have been vacated, while efforts to recover 108 kanals of land in the area are underway, the CDA said.
The authority said the operations involved surveys, verification of revenue records, scrutiny of ownership documents and legal reviews to ensure enforcement in accordance with the law.
It added that the campaign aimed to protect public property, remove illegal encroachments and ensure the use of state land according to approved plans.
The CDA said citizens had welcomed the recovery of state land and the expected resumption of development activities, particularly in Sector E-12.
