PDMA issues weather alert for upper Balochistan districts
QUETTA, Oct 05 (APP):The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan has issued a weather advisory warning of rain, wind, and thunderstorms in parts of the province.
According to NDMA, PMD Islamabad, and RMC Quetta, a westerly wave is likely to enter the upper parts of the country tonight and persist until October 7, 2026. Under its influence, mainly dry and hot weather will prevail across the province; however, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Zhob, Musakhail, Barkhan, Sherani, and surrounding areas on the evening and night of October 6.
The advisory cautioned that wind and thunderstorms may damage weak structures such as electric poles, billboards, and solar panels during the forecast period. Farmers have been advised to plan their crop activities in line with the latest forecast, while the general public has been urged to remain in safe places during heavy rains and windstorms. Temperatures are also expected to drop during this period.
All concerned authorities have been directed to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures. District administrations are instructed to share daily situation reports with the Provincial Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) PDMA.
