Standing committee reviews Balochistan Water Resources Management Bill 2026
QUETTA, Oct 12 (APP): Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai on Monday formally inaugurated the Members Facilitation Centre (MFC) established at the Balochistan Assembly Secretariat, marking a significant step towards modernising parliamentary support services and enhancing the legislative capacity of elected representatives.
On the occasion, Secretary Balochistan Assembly Tahir Shah Kakar briefed lawmakers on the objectives, functions and services of the newly established centre, highlighting its role in facilitating members in the effective discharge of their parliamentary responsibilities.
The Members Facilitation Centre has been set up on the directives of the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly with the primary objective of providing lawmakers with comprehensive, timely and professional assistance at a single platform.
The facility is designed to support members in legislative drafting, parliamentary affairs, research work and other administrative matters, thereby contributing to a more effective, organised and productive legislative process.
During the briefing, Tahir Shah Kakar informed members that the centre would assist them in the preparation and submission of resolutions, calling attention notices, adjournment motions, privilege motions, parliamentary questions and draft legislation in accordance with the relevant rules and procedures.
The facility will also provide timely information regarding assembly sessions and agendas, prepare parliamentary research papers and offer guidance on a wide range of parliamentary matters.
The establishment of the Members Facilitation Centre is being viewed as an important initiative towards modernising parliamentary services in the Balochistan Assembly, improving institutional performance and ensuring that elected representatives have access to the support and resources required for effective lawmaking and public representation.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai said the creation of the centre represented an important milestone in providing effective parliamentary support, enhancing the legislative process and strengthening the professional capacity of public representatives.
He reaffirmed his commitment to introducing further measures aimed at aligning parliamentary affairs with modern requirements and improving facilities for lawmakers. Such initiatives, he said, would contribute to addressing public issues more effectively and further strengthening democratic institutions and their performance in the province.
