NADRA biometric verification made mandatory for all BRT cards

NADRA biometric verification made mandatory for all BRT cards
PESHAWAR, Oct 14 (APP): NADRA biometric verification and registration have been made mandatory for all Zu Cards used for travel on the Zu Peshawar system.
The registration deadline is 31 December 2026. Unregistered cards will be blocked from 1 January 2027 and will no longer be usable for travel.
According to TransPeshawar, registration facility is available at ticket counters at all BRT stations throughout station operating hours.
Passengers must present their original CNIC and Zu Card. Station staff will record the required information, conduct biometric verification and complete the registration.
Chief Executive Officer TransPeshawar, Dr Syed Murtaza Asghar Bukhari, said the initiative aims to strengthen system security through passenger identity verification and support safer, smoother and more organized travel.
He encouraged passengers to complete registration before the deadline to avoid disruption to their travel facilities and congestion at registration counters during the last days.
Zu Cards for passengers under 18 can be registered using their B Form or a parent’s or guardian’s CNIC. Registration through a B Form requires the child’s B Form and Zu Card, along with the child’s biometric verification.
Registration against a parent’s or guardian’s CNIC requires that adult’s original CNIC, the child’s Zu Card and the relevant parent’s or guardian’s presence for biometric verification.
Foreign passengers can travel on Zu Peshawar using the Zu App or a Single Journey Ticket. The Zu Card registration fee is Rs 10.
