Pakistan, Netherlands discuss investment opportunities at SIFC
ISLAMABAD, Oct 16 (APP): A Dutch business delegation from Founders Carbon Network (FCN), led by Ambassador of the Netherlands to Pakistan Robert-Jan Siegert, visited the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
SIFC Apex Committee Secretary Dr Jehanzeb briefed the delegation on the council’s role as a one-window facilitation platform, highlighting its coordinated approach to connecting investors with relevant government stakeholders and facilitating investment across key sectors of Pakistan’s economy, a news release said on Friday.
The delegation was briefed on bankable investment projects and opportunities in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), particularly Karachi Industrial Park (KIP) and Bin Qasim Industrial Park (BQIP).
The briefing highlighted the potential of these industrial zones to attract foreign investment, promote industrial development and create opportunities for business partnerships.
The discussions also covered potential avenues for Dutch investment, strengthening bilateral trade ties under the European Union’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) framework, and ongoing regulatory reforms to improve the ease of doing business in Pakistan.
SIFC continues to facilitate engagement with international investors by showcasing commercially viable projects, coordinating with relevant government institutions and promoting an investor-friendly business environment.
The visit reflects ongoing efforts to expand Pakistan-Netherlands economic cooperation, encourage foreign investment and strengthen mutually beneficial trade and commercial ties.
