PSX investor base hits record 656,218
ISLAMABAD, Oct 1 (APP):The investor base of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reached 656,218 in September 2026, after a record 25,281 new investors entered the market during the month.
Advisor to the Finance Minister, Khurram Schehzad, in a post on social media platform X, said September saw the highest-ever number of new investors added to the PSX in a single month.
He said the total investor base had more than doubled since March 2024, reaching 656,218, with Gen-Z constituting the majority of the newly added investors.
“The shift is not just in market performance — it is increasingly visible in who is participating in the market,” the advisor said.
Schehzad said the growing participation reflected broader involvement in the country’s capital markets, describing the trend as “more investors, broader participation and deeper capital markets.”
