ANF seizes 72 kg of ice worth Rs 20 million in Pasni
RAWALPINDI, Oct 13 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 72 kilograms of ice (methamphetamine), valued at around Rs 20 million, during an intelligence-based operation in the coastal area of Pasni, Balochistan, foiling an alleged attempt to smuggle the drugs abroad by sea.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the drugs were concealed in underground pits in an uninhabited area of Pasni. A three-engine speedboat and a Toyota pickup allegedly used in the smuggling operation were also seized.
Initial investigations suggested that the drugs had been smuggled from Afghanistan and were to be transported by speedboat from the Pasni coast to international waters.
The spokesperson said timely ANF action foiled the suspected smuggling attempt, while efforts were underway to identify and arrest network members and their facilitators.
The spokesperson added that anti-narcotics operations were continuing across the country to curb drug trafficking through Pakistan’s land and sea routes and support efforts to achieve a drug-free Pakistan.
