CPO reviews security, traffic arrangements for Pak-Sri Lanka ODI in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Oct 18 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera on Sunday reviewed security and traffic arrangements at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium for the Pakistan-Sri Lanka ODI match in the ongoing Tri-Nation Series.
During his visit, the CPO inspected security duties at various points and directed police officers to ensure foolproof security for the match. SP Rawal, SP Potohar and other officers briefed him on the arrangements put in place for the event.
Around 6,000 Rawalpindi police personnel are performing security and traffic duties for the match, the CPO said, adding that snipers had been deployed on rooftops to strengthen security.
He said the stadium and surrounding areas were being monitored through Safe City and other CCTV cameras, while a special control room had been established to oversee security arrangements.
Police station mobile units, Elite Force teams and Dolphin Squad personnel are also conducting patrols around the stadium and in adjoining areas to maintain law and order, he added.
The CPO said effective traffic management measures had been put in place to facilitate citizens and ensure smooth traffic flow during the match.
He reiterated that all necessary measures were being taken to ensure foolproof security and traffic arrangements for the Pakistan-Sri Lanka ODI.
