Governor Kundi chairs first Advisor Council meeting, vows decisive action against terrorism
PESHAWAR, Oct 28 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the education sector, assuring full support to Abbottabad Public School and stressing the need to establish more quality educational institutions across the province.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the Board of Governors of Abbottabad Public School at the Governor House. Adviser to the Governor on Education Dr Amir Abdullah, Secretary Education Inayatullah Waseem, Principal Abbottabad Public School Akhtar Qureshi and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Secretary Education and the school’s principal briefed the Governor on the institution’s history, academic services, achievements, budget and challenges. They informed the meeting that Abbottabad Public School was regarded as one of the finest educational institutions not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in Pakistan.
Appreciating the school’s educational services and outstanding performance, Governor Kundi assured the administration of every possible support. He said there would be no compromise on the provision of quality education to children, adding that the education and health sectors remained among the government’s top priorities.
The Governor observed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had the highest proportion of youth in the country, making it essential to establish more quality institutions like Abbottabad Public School. He said the Adviser on Education had been assigned important targets for improving the education sector and would play an effective role in resolving the school’s issues.
He directed the school administration to take effective measures to further improve administrative affairs and educational standards, and asked officials to provide him with monthly updates on the institution’s performance and progress.
