Pak-China friendship a strong foundation for Pakistan’s economic development, prosperity: Mubarak Zeb
PESHAWAR, Oct 22 (APP):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tribal Affairs, Mubarak Zeb, has said that the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China, founded on mutual trust, respect and shared interests, remains a vital pillar of Pakistan’s economic development, industrial progress and regional stability.
He said Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is taking keen interest in further strengthening relations with China, expanding bilateral trade, attracting Chinese investment and accelerating projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He expressed these views while talking to media during his visit to China Window, a Chinese cultural and information centre in Peshawar.
During his visit, Mubarak Zeb toured various galleries of China Window and showed keen interest in exhibitions highlighting China’s history, civilization, cultural heritage, technological advancements, economic transformation and the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.
He appreciated China’s remarkable development achievements, describing the country’s extraordinary economic transformation over recent decades as an inspiring example for developing nations, including Pakistan.
Special Assistant said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarded Pakistan’s relationship with China as a cornerstone of the country’s foreign and economic policies.
He noted that the Prime Minister was making sustained efforts to expand economic cooperation, promote joint industrial ventures, establish special economic zones and create an investment-friendly environment for Chinese companies.
Referring to CPEC, Mubarak Zeb said the initiative was much more than a collection of infrastructure, road and energy projects. Rather, it represented a comprehensive framework for Pakistan’s long-term economic transformation and sustainable development.
Highlighting the economic potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly the merged tribal districts, he said these areas possessed enormous opportunities in minerals, agriculture, tourism and cross-border trade.
Mubarak Zeb expressed optimism that enhanced economic cooperation between Pakistan and China would create new opportunities for young people in the tribal districts, particularly in education, technical training, entrepreneurship and employment.
Appreciating the activities of China Window, the Special Assistant described the centre as an important platform for promoting mutual understanding and strengthening people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
