ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP): The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad organized a special free medical camp in Union Council Sara-e-Kharboza to provide basic healthcare services to local residents.

The camp offered free medical consultations, medicines, blood sugar testing and screening for tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis and HIV. Routine immunization services were also provided to protect children against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Medical teams facilitated residents in accessing essential healthcare services and encouraged them to undergo screening for early detection of diseases and seek timely medical care.
Dr Shazia Gul, In-charge of the Mobile Service Unit (MSU), visited the camp and reviewed the arrangements and provision of healthcare facilities.
The initiative is part of the DHO Islamabad’s ongoing efforts to improve access to primary healthcare, particularly for communities requiring greater access to medical services.
The camp also aimed to promote preventive healthcare, raise awareness about infectious diseases and encourage routine childhood vaccination to reduce the risk of preventable illnesses.
The initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3, which focuses on good health and well-being, and SDG 10, aimed at reducing inequalities.
