Dr Akbar Niazi Hospital among top three in ADR reporting
ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP): Dr Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital has been recognized among the top three private hospitals in Islamabad for timely and effective reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADR), according to a hospital spokesperson.
He said that the recognition was conferred by the Provincial Pharmacovigilance Centre, Health Department Islamabad, in acknowledgement of the hospital’s performance in reporting adverse effects associated with medicines.
Dr Bilal Anwar, Lead Pharmacist and the hospital’s Pharmacovigilance Focal Person, received the recognition on behalf of the hospital.
ADR reporting is an important component of pharmacovigilance, helping healthcare professionals identify potential risks associated with medicines, facilitate timely action and improve patient safety.
Group CEO of GAK Healthcare International Yasir Khan Niazi appreciated the recognition and support of the relevant health authorities, saying continued guidance and training were helping strengthen medicine safety and monitoring systems.
The hospital administration also acknowledged the cooperation of health department officials in organizing information and technical training sessions for its medical staff.
The administration said patient safety remained a key priority and that the hospital would continue to strengthen safe medication practices, pharmacovigilance and quality healthcare services.
The hospital management attributed the recognition to the collective efforts of its medical and paramedical teams and expressed its commitment to further improving patient care and safety.
