Gilani meets Speaker National Assembly
ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Thursday met Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at Parliament House.
The meeting discussed the overall political, economic and security situation in the country, along with other matters of mutual interest.
The participants also exchanged views on further strengthening institutional cooperation between the two Houses of Parliament and enhancing the effectiveness of the legislative process.
The Chairman Senate emphasized that all political forces should rise above political affiliations and prioritize the national interest to promote Pakistan’s development, prosperity and stability. He stressed the importance of political dialogue, mutual consultation and greater cooperation among political forces, Parliament and state institutions to address the challenges facing the country.
He underlined that Parliament is a fundamental pillar of the democratic system and has a key role in building consensus on national issues, addressing public concerns and ensuring effective legislation.
