ISLAMABAD, Oct 07 (APP):The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, in collaboration with the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), has invited applications for the Fulbright Scholar Program 2027.
According to the official announcement shared by the HEC on Wednesday, the prestigious program is open to Pakistani scholars and professionals who wish to pursue lecturing and post-doctoral research opportunities in the United States.
The Fulbright Scholar Program is one of the most competitive and fully-funded exchange programs in the world. Under the program, selected scholars will get up to 10 months of grant support.
The grant covers international airfare, a living stipend, health insurance, and a research allowance. Notably, the program also funds one accompanying dependent, making it more attractive for senior academics.
As per the official notification, the program is open to all disciplines except clinical medicine.                                                                   This provides a wide opportunity for scholars from social sciences, humanities, sciences, technology, arts, and other fields.
The eligibility criteria requires applicants to have a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field, excellent English communication skills, and must be a Pakistani citizen residing and working in Pakistan at the time of application.
The HEC has advised interested candidates to apply online through the official USEFP website at http://usefp.org/scholarships/fulbright-scholar.cfm. The last date to submit applications is October 28, 2026.
Applicants have been advised to carefully verify admission requirements, deadlines and scholarship details directly from the official program website. HEC said the program is supported under the HEC-USEFP Bilateral Partnership.
The Fulbright program has historically played a key role in strengthening academic ties between Pakistan and the United States, with hundreds of Pakistani scholars benefiting from research exposure in top US universities.
