JazzFi reaches 11 mln users as customers embrace enhanced calling experience
ISLAMABAD, Oct 16 (APP): Jazz, Pakistan’s leading connectivity provider from JazzWorld, has reached 11 million users of JazzFi, its Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) service, reflecting growing customer adoption of a technology that enables improved voice connectivity and a more reliable calling experience through Wi-Fi networks.
Introduced in July 2023, JazzFi made Jazz the first mobile operator in Pakistan to offer direct Wi-Fi-enabled calling to mobile and landline numbers. The service allows customers to make and receive calls using their existing mobile numbers over Wi-Fi, without requiring a separate application.
Particularly useful in locations with weak or inconsistent cellular signals, JazzFi helps maintain call quality and connectivity while supporting simultaneous voice and data usage.
Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer, JazzWorld, said, “VoWiFi complements traditional mobile networks by enabling reliable voice connectivity through Wi-Fi. Its integration with our network gives customers an additional way to stay connected while optimizing the use of available network resources. The growing adoption of JazzFi demonstrates how complementary technologies are helping us deliver a more consistent and seamless connectivity experience.”
The service is available nationwide on compatible smartphones, with customers able to activate Wi-Fi calling through their device settings. Once enabled, JazzFi works through the phone’s native calling functionality, allowing customers to use the service without changing their mobile numbers or how they normally make calls.
Jazz continues to invest in its mobile network and complementary technologies to strengthen service quality and support changing customer needs. The growing adoption of JazzFi highlights the role of these solutions in extending the benefits of connectivity beyond conventional cellular coverage and enhancing the overall customer experience.
