ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP):Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in energy, technology, industry, education and youth development, with both sides agreeing to engage technical teams to identify priority areas for joint initiatives.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Masood Malik and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Rajeh Tami Albugamy at the ministry on Thursday.
The discussions focused on strengthening economic ties through closer industry-academia collaboration, technology transfer, business development and human resource development.
Dr. Musadik Malik highlighted Saudi Arabia’s economic and social transformation under Vision 2030, particularly in entrepreneurship, education, industry and urban development. He also referred to initiatives such as NEOM and the Green Saudi Initiative.
He said Saudi Arabia’s experience in promoting entrepreneurship and investment offered useful lessons for Pakistan, particularly in engaging young people in innovation and business development.
The minister said Pakistan had substantial natural resources, mineral wealth, strategic geographic advantages, ports and a large youth population, but translating these assets into sustainable economic growth required a clear vision, effective implementation and investment in technology and human capital.
The Saudi ambassador expressed his country’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Pakistan and support development efforts in key sectors. He stressed the importance of equipping skilled and qualified young people with technological expertise and opportunities to contribute to national development.
Both sides also discussed the strategic advantages of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in accessing markets in Asia, Europe and Africa, and the potential for greater collaboration in energy, technology and skills development.
They agreed on the need to develop a shared vision for bilateral cooperation and task technical teams with identifying priority areas and exploring initiatives capable of delivering tangible results.
