Secretary Health reviews polio eradication efforts at NEOC
ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP): Federal Secretary for National Health Services Momin Agha on Thursday visited the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) for Polio Eradication to review ongoing eradication efforts and assess preparations for the upcoming polio vaccination campaign.
During the visit, Momin Agha received a detailed briefing from the NEOC team on the current polio situation, progress in eradication activities, operational planning and measures being taken to strengthen vaccination coverage across the country.
The briefing also covered preparations for the upcoming polio drive, including coordination between federal and provincial health authorities, mobilisation of frontline vaccination teams and strategies to ensure that every eligible child receives polio vaccine drops.
Momin Agha reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating polio from Pakistan and stressed the need for coordinated efforts, effective monitoring and accountability at all levels to achieve the national eradication target.
He highlighted the importance of addressing operational challenges, engaging communities and building public trust to ensure the success of vaccination campaigns, particularly in areas where children remain at risk of contracting the poliovirus.
He reiterated the government’s resolve to strengthen collaboration among relevant stakeholders and sustain efforts towards a polio-free Pakistan through comprehensive planning, effective implementation and continued monitoring.
