ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League (N) central leader Shumaila Rana, on Tuesday said that making statements against the law enforcement agencies amid the prevailing sensitive situation was inappropriate, as such remarks could benefit the country’s adversaries.
Talking to the media outside Parliament House, she urged national unity against elements seeking to undermine the country’s stability and weaken its national cohesion.
She emphasized that speaking against the country’s own institutions at such a critical juncture was not in the national interest.
She said Pakistan’s political leadership and state institutions had earned international recognition, while the country was receiving offers to play a mediatory role and had contributed to promote global peace through dialogue.
Ms. Rana attributed Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements to the efforts of the military leadership, the prime minister and the government.
She said coordinated efforts by the country’s civil and military leadership had enhanced Pakistan’s standing internationally, warning that statements promoting internal divisions could serve the interests of hostile elements.
Highlighting Pakistan’s relations with Saudi Arabia, she said the two countries enjoyed deep-rooted religious, spiritual and strategic ties.
She reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to extending all possible cooperation for the protection of Saudi Arabia and the sanctity of the Holy Mosques.
