FDA seals illicit housing schemes

FDA directed to provide immediate relief to applicants
FAISALABAD, Oct 05 (APP): On the direction of Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, a vigorous operation against illegal housing schemes and unauthorized constructions was underway.
FDA spokesman said here on Monday that FDA’s Enforcement Team took action against three housing schemes found involved in various violations in different areas of Dijkot and Samundri Road. Their illegal constructions were demolished while the relevant offices and gates were sealed, he added.
Giving details, he said that FDA Enforcement Team, under the supervision of Director Town Planning-II Asma Mohsin, comprising Assistant Director Town Planning Muhammad Yawar, Enforcement Inspector Aslam Gujjar and other relevant staff conducted an inspection and took action against two illegal Azafi Abadies established on the land of Chak No.263-RB Dijkot.
The FDA team demolished illegal constructions there with heavy machinery and also sealed the entrance gate.
Similarly, action was taken against Gulshan-e-Haram Housing Scheme near Niamuanah on Samundri Road for converting residential plots to commercial use without approval.
The shops constructed there were demolished with heavy machinery, he added.
He said the FDA team made it clear that unauthorized commercial activities in residential areas and violations of approved plans and land-use regulations would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He warned the developers and concerned individuals to refrain from violating the law and strictly comply with approved plans as well as all relevant laws and regulations. Otherwise, strictest legal action would be taken against them without discrimination, he added.
He also advised the citizens to thoroughly verify legal status, approval and relevant record of any housing scheme before purchasing a plot or making an investment so that they could protect themselves from investing in illegal housing schemes and unauthorized constructions.
The citizens could contact FDA department to obtain the required information and verify legal status of any housing scheme, he added.
