Office of Ombudsman Punjab gets ISO 27001 certification
LAHORE, Oct 02 (APP): The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has secured the internationally recognised ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System (ISMS) Certification, covering its Head Office and 39 Regional Offices across Punjab.
The certification was formally presented to Ombudsman Punjab Ayesha Hamid at a ceremony held at the Committee Room of the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab. The certification represents the largest geographical scope for ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification achieved by an Ombudsman institution in Pakistan.
The certification establishes a formal Information Security Management System based on risk assessment, internal audits and management review, strengthening the institution’s approach to information security, legal and regulatory compliance and data protection.
The ISMS covers systems and services supporting the receipt, management and resolution of public complaints relating to maladministration, including the Ombudsman Punjab Management Information System (OPMIS), 24/7 Helpline 1050 and Ombudsman Punjab Typing Test System (OPTTS), along with relevant IT infrastructure and associated services.
Addressing the ceremony, Ombudsman Punjab Ayesha Hamid appreciated the hard work, professional competence and commitment of officers and officials whose efforts contributed to achieving the certification. She also expressed confidence in the teams working at the Head Office and 39 Regional Offices across Punjab.
Secretary Ombudsman Punjab Office Kaiser Saleem congratulated the IT, Infrastructure and Development Team and appreciated their collective efforts and dedication.
SGS Pakistan Managing Director Usman Asif said the certification would further strengthen citizens’ confidence in the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab, particularly as it handles a large volume of public complaints and sensitive information.
The certification reflects the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab’s commitment to adopting internationally recognised best practices and strengthening its institutional systems in line with global information-security standards.
Advisors and Consultants of the Ombudsman Punjab Head Office, Delta X Consultants Managing Director Sirajud Din, Regional Director Ali Akhtar, Senior Business Manager Khawaja Faisal Javed and Lead Auditor Ali Newaz Shah attended the ceremony.
